Product Overview

This estate, run by Paolo de Marchi, is yet another that has seen a dramatic rise in quality over the last few decades. Paolo's family, originally from Piedmont, purchased the estate in the 1960s.

His attention to detail in both the vineyard and the winery was the driving force that turned quality around. Experience working a vintage or two in California helped, but no doubt the input received from oenological consultant Donato Lanati has also been of significance.

Tasting Notes

Composed of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo and 5% Syrah, Isole e Olena’s Chianti Classico is complex and superbly balanced.

An inviting and luscious nose, filled with spice and savoury red fruits, plum and mulberry.

The Syrah adds a touch of colour and a ripe, roundness to the palate which blends perfectly with the red berry fruit of Sangiovese and the judiciously judged oak.

Plenty of ripe tannins and a hint of black pepper marks the finish.
