Fruit from the Heathcote Estate vineyard
Fermented in open and closed fermenters, three weeks on skins
Pressed and transferred to barrel – 100% French (20% new, second and third use)
Aged in oak for 15 months, racked four times during maturation
Deep ruby with a brilliant shiraz-purple hue. Dark berry fruit and lifted spice dominate, with underlying scents of pepper, provincial herbs and classy French oak. The palate is loaded with dark fruited shiraz intensity. Lush ripe sweet berries are followed by subtle nuances of spice and toasted oak.
