About the Vineyard:

The vineyards of Sainte-Colombe can be traced back to Gallo-Roman times.

The first written references to the vineyard at “Picoron” date back to the early 18th century. In 2015, the château was bought by Glenda and Franck Kalyk, an Australian couple who are passionate about wine and France.

The Château Picoron vineyard stands on calcareous clay soil in the commune of Sainte-Colombe. It uses sustainable vineyard management practices to preserve ecosystem integrity.

“Blockbuster style. Cassis, coffee bean and mint chocolate, some earth/gravel-like character. It’s thick and bold, packed with plum and black fruits, a ferrous character, rolling fat tannin that coats the mouth, bitter chocolate and dried herb, and a fleshy finish of good length. Hefty, quite modern, but rich and satisfying.”
